Corey Callaghan is a multimedia journalist currently working for Global Winnipeg.
He joined the team in June 2018 as a digital broadcast journalist, technical producing Global News Morning (GNM) and writing for online as well. He is also a back-up producer for GNM.
Before joining Global, Corey was a video journalist/radio news anchor for CFTK-TV/Bell Media in Prince Rupert, B.C. and an afternoon anchor/reporter for CFNR-FM in Terrace B.C. where he started his broadcast journalism career.

Corey is a proud Fanshawe College graduate, completing the journalism-broadcast program in 2015. He also completed the Television News post-grad program.
Corey achieved numerous honours during his time in school including being on the president's honour roll, dean's honour roll, award of excellence and broadcast journalist of the year award.
Corey has also interned at multiple stations, including AM980 - London, CJBK-London, and CTV London. He took on many roles including; reporter, writer, researcher, editing lineups and helping bring the latest information on social media platforms. Corey was also fortunate enough to help CJBK implement a texting app so listeners could text in comments or questions to the play-by-play team during the 2014 Memorial Cup. CJBK still uses the texting app today for its talk shows.
Corey always shows dedication, passion, integrity, and respect at all times. He believes that it is important to get the job done in a professional and timely manner.
Outside of the newsroom, Corey has many interests he likes to pursue during his spare time. He enjoys playing basketball, exploring, following politics, the weather, current affairs, and watching television shows like Blue Bloods, Modern Family and The Office.
